Barcelona players are to wear special kits that bear Chinese names at the back of their shirts against Real Madrid on Wednesday .
For the first time in their history, the Catalan giants will have players’ names written in another script to Latin to mark Chinese New Year.
The special kit will be featured tonight as Barcelona face Real Madrid at home(camp Nou) for the copa del rey semi-final.
The scripts at the back of their shirts indicates the names of the players in chinese characters which is underneath their regular names in order to honour Chinese New Year which starts this week.
Chinese New Year is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. The festival is usually referred to as the Spring Festival in mainland China, and is one of several Lunar New Years in Asia .
