Shareholders from all 20 Premiere league clubs will meet on Thursday to discuss a renewal in the cap on away tickets and what the league can do to combat racism.
It is the first meeting of the Premier League shareholders since 1999 which will not be chaired by former executive chairman Richard Scudamore after he vacated the role in December.
Also high on the shareholders’ agenda will be a discussion on what the league can do to combat racism in football, in light of recent incidents involving Premier League players Raheem Sterling, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and most recently Mohammed Salah.
The Premier League also wants to increase awareness of how fans can report incidents if they witness, or are subject to, racist abuse at Premier League stadiums. Plans are also made toincrease the number of Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) coaches and referees in the professional game.
VAR – The video assistant referee is a football assistant referee who reviews decisions made by the head referee with the use of video footage and a headset for communication.

The VAR Principle is already being utilised in some other top European leagues such as La Liga, Seria A and Bundesliga and UEFA has also confirmed that th Technology will be introduced in the 2018 – 19 champions league season.
