Manchester united defender Ashley young has signed a one year contract extension with the club until 2020.
Ashley young has become the latest Manchester United player to sign a new contract with the club.
Young is one of United’s longest-serving players and has recently been made skipper in the continuing absence of club captain Antonio Valencia.
Young has made 227 appearances for the Old Trafford club since since joining from Aston Villa back in 2011 scoring a total of 17 goals and has proven a versatile utility option in both midfield and defense.
Young has played a key role for the Red Devils this term, featuring in 25 matches across all competitions, despite competing with Diogo Dalot and Antonio Valencia for a regular spot at right-back.
It is understood that Ander Herrera is close to extending his contract beyond the end of the season, while Juan Mata is is another player whose deal is close to expiring.
Negotiations are also ongoing with first choice goal-keeper David De Gea, while it is understood the club have open talks with Marcus Rashford for over a new and improved deal.
Young now joins Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Anthony Martial on the list of players who have committed to fresh deals with the club.
