City looking to sign a possible Fernandinho replacement
Manchester city coach Pep Guardiola is said to have found his next target after missing out on Jorginho last summer and Frenkie De Jong in January.
Pep Guardiola has stepped up his pursuit of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as Manchester city look to find a midfield replacement for Fernandinho according to reports.
Fernandinho, at age 33 has featured in 32 City games this season and the Blues have looked a far weaker outfit without his presence in front of the back four.
The Blues’ boss was left frustrated last summer when Jorginho, then of Napoli, opted for a reunion with Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea before Dutch sensation Frenkie De Jong tied an agreement with Barcelona in January.
The position of Fernandinho has been trailed by likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Fabian Delph but non has sufficiently given the midfield stability Guardiola opts for in the Etihad.
The Sun state that Ndombele, who starred in Lyon’s defeat of City in the Champions League group-stage opener, is the City boss’ no.1 target as the Blues look to reduce Fernandinho’s workload.
