Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the interim manager of Manchester United revealed his thoughts of the coming champions league clash in Paris on Wednesday night
The Manchester United interim manager after the Southampton game on Saturday, a game in which the red devils once again displayed their wonder by coming back and winning the match by an 89th minute lukaku strike, said that he’s confident a positive return will show out before the end of 90 minutes on Wednesday night.
He said the boys were happy and were bouncing about in the dressing room after the win and that they are confident enough and anticipating the game on Wednesday .
He also said that it has been a tradition in the time of The icon Sir Alex Ferguson”his mentor” for the Manchester United side to win games by comebacks and late minute goals and that something similar might eventually come up in the PSG game.
The Manchester United interim manager under Sir Alex Ferguson scored a last minute goal in the 1999 champions league final against Bayern Munich to grant them victory in the game. A similar situation might not be too much to ask for.
“We’re playing against one of the best teams in Europe with some absolute quality players but who knows? This has happened before, so many great comebacks.
“The Champions League has given quite a few of those comebacks, PSG against Barcelona for example. We have to do it away from home, but we have eight straight wins away from home.
“We’re confident away from home and if we’re in the game with 20 or 30 minutes to go, who knows?”
The English side are travelling to Paris on Wednesday without their midfielder Paul Pogba who was sent off on the first leg of the champions league round of 16 in Old Trafford. Nothing has been said on the situation of the injured players Lingard, Martial, Mata, Herrera and Matic.
PSG also came back to win their league game yesterday with the equaliser and winning goals both coming from the youngster Mbappe.
They were one goal down for only three minutes after Ninga scored the opener of the game for Caen but a penalty taken by Mbappe three minutes later and another goal in the 87th minute saw Caen losing hopes of having any point in the match.
The 20 year old has been very good and is still continuing his good performances on the pitch. The Manchester United side should find a way to hold him down if they can because he might be causing another problem in there defense.
