Manchester United face PSG on Wednesday night in the UEFA champions, Unitd Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could call upon several youth players when the Red Devils face Paris Saint-Germain tonight (8pm).
Manchester United trail 2-0 to the French club from the first leg of the last 16, a tie that was played at Old-Trafford, goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe has caused the London club to lag behind leaving them a hill to climb when they visit Paris on Wednesday night.
Up to 10 united players are reportedly unavailable for the Paris clash, with Vital man Paul Pogba on a red card on the last outing.
This may force Manchester United to may hand Champions League debuts to a number of youth players when they take on Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
United boss in his pre-match press conference said:
“Tomorrow night might be a chance for some of the young ones.
“It’s just one of those situations that we come into. We lost a few players, we’ll cope with that, we’ll have a good team, we didn’t lose any in the last game.
“Alexis [Sanchez] was the one that we struggled to get fit for now.
“Brandon [Williams] is a full-back who can play both sides, quick. It’s the first time he travels with us, he didn’t expect to come, but that’s part of being here that suddenly you’re called upon, why you’re in the academy.”
Sanchez could be sidelined for up to two months with ankle ligament damage and is the latest first-team star to join an ever-lengthening injury list. The Chilean picked up on injury in United last match against Southampton, where Romelu Lukaku was the match winner, with a double to give united a 3-2 win, after a goal from Andreas Pereira .
Romelu Lukaku is likely to start up front with Marcus Rashford out wide, Scott McTominay and Fred should patrol the midfield while Diogo Dalot could get the nod in an advanced role once more.
Juan Mata, Matteo Damian and Antonio Valencia are also on the treatment table, causing United to call up several youngsters for the trip to Paris.
Anthony Martial is nearing a return after a groin injury but Phil Jones is doubtful while Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera are all out.
Mason Greenwood, James Garner, Angel Gomez, Tahith Chong have going Williams in linking up with the travelling squad and will hope to feature in some capacity.
